Ways to Give

For over three decades, My Sisters’ Place has worked tirelessly to address the problem of homelessness in the Greater Hartford area, helping more than 26,000 people in the community achieve stability and self-sufficiency. We have proven time and time again that it is possible for those experiencing homelessness to step out into a bright new future of independence.

But we can’t do it alone. As a nonprofit agency, the support of those in our community is critical to the success of our mission. Our greatest need is for people like you to make a commitment to helping the homeless through generous and consistent donations. Join our mission and help us work toward the day when every person has permanent, safe housing and a future of self-reliance.

Support My Sisters’ Place today by donating. See all donation options below.

Annual Gifts

Annual gifts help My Sisters’ Place meet our operating budget on an annual basis. Your gift goes to work immediately to make a difference. We appreciate annual gifts in any amount.

Honor and Memorial Gifts

Honor and memorial gifts are a thoughtful and caring way to honor or remember your loved one and at the same time, help others. Recipients or their family members will be notified of your gift. To learn more, contact Christina Lessard, Director of Development, at 860-808-2044 or clessard@mercyhousingct.org.

Matching Gifts

Many corporations will match an employee’s gift to charitable organizations. In addition, some provide donations to the organization where their employees volunteer. Please contact your Human Resource Department for more information and forms.

Monthly Donations

A monthly donation makes it easy to support My Sisters’ Place throughout the year and conveniently spread a more impactful gift over time. You can set up an easy, recurring donation.

In-Kind Donations

There are different ways to help My Sisters’ Place provide for the many needs of our clients.  A drive can be held in-person or by setting up an Amazon wish-list for specific items such as cleaning products, toiletries, diapers, etc.  This is a great idea for school, neighborhood, or work groups. Or, you can purchase items directly from My Sisters’ Place’s wish-list on Amazon here. All items purchased on Amazon are shipped directly to My Sisters’ Place. Please be sure to include your name so that we can acknowledge you!

Gifts of Stocks, Securities, Real Estate, Bequests, and Other Gifts

Gifts of stock or securities, bequests, or other planned gifts are important to My Sisters’ Place because they are usually large gifts that are often not restricted and enable us to do our work and fulfill our mission. If you are considering this type of gift, please consult with your estate planning attorney and then feel free to discuss your intent with us.  To learn more, contact Christina Lessard, Director of Development, at 860-808-2044 or clessard@mercyhousingct.org.
